JCL Study Guides
These resources have been provided as additional aids to help prepare you for the upcoming local Festivus (late October/early November) and TJCL state conventions (24-25 April 2020, held in town at the University of Memphis). While the best way to prepare for these competitions is to start with paying attention in class, these aids are provided here for students who are interested in performing well at the conventions. Some of these sources are also available for checkout from the JCL Study Materials shelf in the Latin classroom. In addition to academic tests, there are athletic and artistic contests, including costume and musical performances, at the state convention, which should have something to suit nearly everyone's interests.
The following tests should be available at the state convention in April:
1. Latin One-Half Grammar 9. Classical Art
2. Latin One Grammar 10. Roman Life
3. Advanced Latin Grammar 11. Roman History
4. Reading Comprehension One 12. Mythology
5. Reading Comprehension Two 13. Latin Literature
6. Advanced Reading Comprehension 14. Hellenics
7. Vocabulary 15. Classical Geography
8. Derivatives 16. Academic Heptathlon
